A Breastplate of faith and love

For this very night an angel of the God I belong to and whom I serve stood before me Acts 27:23

But since we [believers] belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope and confident assurance of salvation. Thessalonians 5:8

Ever had that sinking feeling. Like when you are standing on the bus in the middle isle and there is nothing to hang on to. You are trying to stand your ground, everything under you is shaky and you are feeling like you are going to hit the ground any second.

It can be daunting. One major thing has happened, then suddenly something else then something else again. It is enough to make you drop. You know your spent. Your brain is on overload. You have many people in your life and you are praying for them all . Even for people you do not know. What do you do?

Mostly, almost all of us will be tempted to run to the closest friend or family member without hesitation. This may help a little in the short term. But how are we as Women of God supposed to react to any given situation that finds us climbing the walls and trying to cope with strength and humility and be discerning about what to do next. What reaction to have, and how to have a level head in times when you just really want to scream and run.

In Luke 11 1-13 Jesus guides us on how to pray and what to say. It is when Jesus sat and gave the Sermon on the Mount and the disciples ask Him to teach them how to pray. It has become known as the Lord’s prayer. You know the one – Our father who art in heaven, hallowed be your name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen. The amen meaning ‘so be it’.

So as Women of God our first response should be to look up, just look up and sing, and keep on singing. Keep on singing keep on praying, keep on being the best Woman of God you can be. You are a warrior woman. You have your breastplate on. Start your day with some worship, then move to prayer and start your prayer with the Lord’s prayer.

It will help you to keep your breastplate on during the day and help you to cope with what is going on around you.

Have a lovely day today

Keep the faith
